The Award
The Authority was one of only three councils to be awarded the highest recognition, the highly commended award, as well as receiving a further commendation and certificate of recognition.
The highly commended award was received in the children and young people category, and recognised the excellent work going on in Carmarthenshire to support children to reach their full potential.

Open Day
The dissemination of good practice is a fundamental principle of Excellence Wales and our attendance at the Our Children & Young People National Open Day event held on the 18th & 19th November 2008, in Venue Cymru in Llandudno, was an excellent opportunity to share the good practice with other service providers and partners. The information contained within The Children and Young People’s Booklet summarises our good practice.
The following links are some examples of the good practice we shared with other service providers and partners at the National Open Day Event.
