Croeso - Welcome

Ysgol Gyfun y Strade was established in 1977 as a mixed Bilingual School. We have approximately 850 pupils with an established first year intake of about 150.

Pupils at ComputersThe school provides, within a safe and happy Welsh community, the widest possible range of educational opportunities, thus preparing our young people for their future. This allows each child to achieve his or her academic, practical and social potential in addition to showing respect and displaying courtesy to fellow pupils and adults. Y Strade is a Welsh school and pupils are expected to use the Welsh language on all possible occasions inside and outside the classroom.

Staff and pupils at Strade work enthusiastically to uphold the school 's logo,namely- "Nid da lle gellir gwell ".

Ysgol Y Strade inspection, October 2006.

The school was inspected by a team of Estyn inspectors in October 2006 and the main finding of the report highlight that Ysgol Y Strade is a very good school with many outstanding features.  The school gained grade 1 in all seven of the key questions inspected.  The school is only the third school throughout Wales to achieve seven grades 1 since the new inspection system was introduced in 2004.

In addition, the six subject areas inspected achieved the highest grades across all key stages and 95% of the lessons inspected were also awarded grades 1 and 2.  Statistically this is the best inspection achieved by any school in Wales under the new arrangements.
