Welcome to Cefneithin Primary School

Our School

Cefneithin C.P School is located in the middle of the village of Cefneithin which is about eight miles from Carmarthen. The majority of the pupils are from the village itself together with Foelgastell and the surrounding area.

It is an A Category school, where teaching is almost completely through the medium of Welsh in Key Stage 1 and through the medium of both languages in Key Stage 2. English as a subject is introduced in KS2. The linguistic aim of the school is to enable pupils to communicate effectively in both languages by the time they leave the school at the age of eleven.

Vision

One of the school’s priorities is that the staff have a strong co-operative relationship with parents and that all children are happy and comfortable in the school and to develop into a responsible member of the community.

The school plays an important role in the community and village and we hope that all pupils appreciate this and grow to be an active member of the community and respect the environment.

Aims

As a school, we are proud that the head and staff work together to create a school with a happy environment, in order to promote each pupil’s mental, emotional, physical, social, moral and spiritual development to the best of his/ her ability, to foster in each pupil the desire to learn and to be a responsible member of society especially in relation to the local community to which he/she belongs.
